Obituary of Gladys Dorothy Goble

Gladys "Tootie" Dorothy Goble, age 87 of Noxen, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Mrs. Goble was born in Noxen on February 10, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Irma Schenck Weaver. Gladys was employed by the Ronox Dress Factory and Nancy Fashion's Dress Factory in Noxen for many years. She loved and enjoyed to spend time with her grandchildren. Gladys was a talented sewer and liked to do liquid embroidery. She was a member of the St. Luke's Reformation Lutheran Church in Noxen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Cubby Weaver. Gladys is survived by daughters, Alberta Crispell and husband Robert of Monroe Twp., Sharon Newell and husband Richard of Noxen, and Cindy Daubert and husband Donald of Noxen; brothers, Charles Weaver of Noxen and Robert Weaver of Ray City, GA; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Marty, Kipp, Jenny, Crystal, Brian, and Amanda; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 18, 2013 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Joel Mitchell of the Noxen Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Dymond Section Of Orcutt's Grove Cemetery, Monroe Township. Friends may call 7:00 - 9:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
