Obituary of Mark Anthony Stefanowicz

Mark Anthony Stefanowicz, age 59 of Loyalville, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013. Mr. Stefanowicz was born in Wilkes-Barre on April 24, 1954 and was the son of the late Anthony Stefanowicz, Jr. and Dolores Stravinski Stefanowicz of Loyalville. He is survived by daughter and best friend, Jacqueline Stefanowicz of Lehman; sisters, Deborah Bronson and her husband Bill of PikesCreek, Ann Price and her husband James of Pikes Creek, and Kathleen Covert and her husband James of Loyalville; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wife Diane Stolarick Stefanowicz of Lehman. He graduated from Lake-Lehman High School in 1972 and resided in Loyalville and Lehman for his entire life. In his teenage years he worked as a groundskeeper for the former PA Governor Fine of Loyalville. Mark was employed as a truck driver for the former Biscontini Warehouse, Kingston, the former Acme Market Warehouse, and retired from Watkins Motorlines in Wilkes-Barre. He was a proud member of the Local 401 chapter of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and former member of the Compass Points Club. Mark was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, flower gardening, photographing nature, and landscaping. He was familiar with the backroads and loved traveling the woods in the local PA State Game lands and the mountains near his home. Due to his great sense of humor, he was proud of the jokes that he told. He was and is loved and fondly remembered by all who he encountered. Mark was also always on the go and very ambitious. Mark loved his family and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 9:30 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am from Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, with the Rev. Richard Fox, officiating. Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Loyalville. Friends may call 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 5018 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018.
