Gene Gordon, age 91 of Lake Township, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Commonwealth Home Health & Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.

Mr. Gordon was born in Lake Township , on February 23, 1922 and was the son of the late Joseph Lawrence and Ada Viola Traver Gordon.

Gene graduated from Laketon High School in 1940. He retired from Air products and Chemical, Hanover Twp., at the age of 62. Gene was a very family oriented man and was a very hard worker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice who passed away in 1997; daughter, Shirley Derhammer and a brother, Burt Gordon and 5 grandchildren.

Gene is survived by children, Bill Gordon and his wife Autumn of Lake Twp., Donna Blansett of Lake Twp., Millie Derhammer and her husband Bill of Lake Twp., Janet Walsh and her husband Dennis of Lake Twp., Bette Jayne and her husband Donny of Auburn Center, Larry Gordon and his wife Faye of Lovelton, Margie Derhammer and her husband Bob of Lake Twp., Carol Miskiel and her husband Rick of Martinez, GA, and Bobby Gordon and his wife Deana of Lake Twp.; brother, Carl " Joe" Gordon of Lake Twp.; sisters, Betty Darrow of Dallas, Shirley Kibbler of Eaton Twp., Ada Kinney of Hunlock Creek, and Joyce Kuhn of Lake Twp.; 29 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Joel Stauffer of the Sweet Valley Church of Christ officiating.

Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.

Friends may call 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to charity of donor's choice.
