Obituary of Stephen Louis DeBarry

Stephen Louis DeBarry, Jr., age 58 of Beaumont, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 at home. Mr. DeBarry was born in Wilkes-Barre on December 5, 1954 and was the son of the late Stephen Louis, Sr. and Betty Reese DeBarry. Stephen was a graduate of Lake-Lehman High School in 1972 and received his Associates Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Luzerne County Community College. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a restaurant manager at Irem Temple Country Club in Dallas and Howard Johnson Restaurant in Pittston. He was a member of Roaring Brook Baptist Church, Hunlock Creek. Stephen enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially with his daughter Kristen. Mr. DeBarry is survived by his daughter, Kristen Reese Millington and her husband Tucker of Drums; brother, Paul A. DeBarry and his wife Diane of Saylorsburg; sister, Robin A. Sorber of Harveys Lake; niece, Afton Bonser of Charlotte, NC; nephew, Zachary DeBarry of Hunlock Creek. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family, with Pastor Dan Brubaker of the Roaring Brook Baptist Church, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Private interment will be in Idetown Cemetery, Lehman Township. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Roaring Brook Baptist Church, 328 Prichards Rd. Hunlock Creek, PA 18621.
