Joan Hilda Healey, age 97 of Forty Fort, went home to be with her Savior on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at the Meadows Nursing and Rehab Center, Dallas.
She was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England on November 25, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Edward and Jane Small.
Joan graduated from Plymouth High School in 1945 and then Wyoming Seminary Business College. She served as a secretary at Forty-Fort Silk, Bell Real Estate and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Wilkes-Barre, where she was a member of the church. He was also a member of her local Women's Lion Club and the Northeastern Chapter of the AACA, Antique Automobile Club of America. Joan enjoyed caring for her pugs and cats. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard "Bernie" Healey.
She is survived by sons, Edward "Teddy" Healey of Fort-Fort and Greg Healey of Forty-Fort; grandchildren, Jensen Healey and his wife Abbey and Natalia Healey; great-grandson, Hudson.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date from Cross Creek Community Church, Trucksville.
Future interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
