Obituary of Marie Donna Bond
Please share a memory of Marie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marie Bonning, passed away on November 19th surrounded by her loving children and was born on October 17, 1935 to the late Luther and Helen Bonning.
Marie grew up in Plymouth and Hunlock Creek. She was top of her class at the Plymouth Shawnee High School and attended nursing school at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital. She worked at the hospital until having her children. Marie also lived in Alexandria, Va, North Beach, MD and Jamesville, NC during her adventurous life.
She helped many people and saved many lives in the hospital as well as out . By her swift action she saved a little girl choking to death and once did CPR on a man in the parking lot of a McDonalds until an ambulance could arrive. She was the head of a very prestigious allergy clinic in Washington DC before she retired.
Marie was very generous and always willing to help others. She was known for her beauty, intelligence and grace. She was just as comfortable in plaid flannel, hunting and fishing as she was in a gown attending shows at the Kennedy Center in DC. She loved to sail, eat blue crab and do the hardest of crossword puzzles in ink. She had a wide variety of hobbies and was an excellent baker and cook. She gardened and canned thousands of quarts of fruits and vegetables in her lifetime. Watching cooking shows became a passion for her later in life.
Marie never complained about her own problems. She was an incredibly strong woman and she will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.
She is survived by her children, David Glogowski ( Shelly) of Rochester, NY, Paul Glogowski ( Paula) of Falls and Linda Austin ( Keith) of Sweet Valley; Marie was also blessed with 6 grandchildren: Nicholas, Matthew, and Steven Glogowski, Laura, Sarah and Joel Austin. Marie also had 3 great-grandchildren: Austin Fisher, Liam Austin and Colin Glogowski. She is also survived by her sister Lucille Wechsler of Shavertown.
Marie was preceded in death by her son, Walter Glogowski, Jr. and her sister, Alice Adams.
A private service was held to commemorate Marie's life.
