Robert C. Olson, Jr. age 75 of Sweet Valley and Davenport, FL, where he and his wife spent their winters as snowbirds, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.

He was born in Kingston on December 23, 1948 and was the son of the late Helen Morasko Olson and Robert Olson, Sr.

Robert graduated from Kingston High School and Kings College, afterward serving in the US Army in the Military Police Unit. Robert retired from the Kmart Corporation after having worked with them for over 30 years as a store manager. He was a member of the Antique Automotive Club of America, American Legion Post 967, Harveys Lake, the Slovak Club of Wilkes-Barre, and both Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hunlock Creek, and St. Faustina Catholic Church, Clermont, FL. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed antique cars and antiquing in general, and playing bingo while staying in Florida. He also loved traveling internationally with his wife and attending live music concerts with family. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Susan Davis; daughter, Jennifer Olson Luff of Swoyersville; son, Robert Olson (Jennifer Luzny) of Sweet Valley; grandchildren, Scott, Emily, Madeline, Elizabeth, Jacob, and Jared; and great-grandchildren, McKenna, Kayleigh, and Connor.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 25, 2024 at 6:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Deacon Eugene Blockus, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
