Nancy Carol Kern, age 72 of Dallas, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Burlington, KS on November 21, 1951 and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jeanne Roush Williams.
Nancy graduated from Gridley Rural High School in Gridley, KS, class of 1969. She worked until 2015 as a secretary for GH Harris Associates for 33 years and was the co-proprietor of Lum's Fern Brook Inn, Dallas, with her late husband, Leon. She enjoyed going on vacations, especially to the beach, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. Nancy was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Leon Kern; son, Shawn Edwin Kern; twin daughters, Kelly and Christine Kern; brother, Arthur Williams.
Nancy is survived by her son, Brian Kern of Dallas; granddaughter, Shauna Kern of Dallas; sisters, Eva Kern (Carl) of Lehman, Beverly Pratt (Brian) of Topeka, KS, Treva Koch of Overbrook, KS and Mary Von Burg of Quincy, IL; brother, Pastor Rex Williams of Bentonville, AR; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with her brother, Pastor Rex Williams, officiating.
