Daniel J. Belcher, Jr. age 81 of Hunlock Creek, passed Friday, February 16, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lyndwood on January 10, 1943 and was the son of the late Daniel and Esther Walker Belcher.
Daniel graduated from Lake-Lehman High School, Class of 1960 and worked for Proctor and Gamble as a machine operator for 27 years. He was a member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church. Daniel was an avid guitar and drum player, and enjoyed fishing and traveling with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Robert.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Linda Nichols; Son, Dan and wife Cheri Belcher of Lake Silkworth; daughter-in-law, Beverly Belcher of Harveys Lake; grandchildren, Robert D. of Lake Silkworth, Danielle Rae of Texas, Aaron M. of Wilkes-Barre, and Tracy, Sherry, and Tanya, all of Sweet Valley; several great-grandchildren; and his dogs, Amy and Susie.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 10:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Daniel Havrilla of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lake Twp.
