Obituary of George Charles Montross

George C. Montross, age 87 of Monroe Township, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Mr. Montross was born in Monroe Township on November 9, 1925 and was the son of the late Elijah and Cora Traver Montross.
George served as a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during WWII on a B-29 Bomber. He was employed by Luzerne Motor Company for 20 years and later retired from Proctor and Gamble Paper Products, Mehoopany in 1986. He attended the River of Life Fellowship, Lehman and was a member of the Patriotic Brotherhood of America. George greatly enjoyed line dancing, being outside, and working on antique cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Carl and Robert Montross and daughter-in-law, Janet Farmer Montross.
Mr. Montross is survived by his wife, Phyllis Kocher Langston Montross; son, Alan George Montross of Wilmington, DE; step-sons, Tim Langston of Mountaintop and Tony Langston of Allentown; step-daughter, Teresa Everetts of Monroe Township; grandchildren, Martha Dalton of Cherryville, NC, and Sarah Lambright of Pittsburgh; step-grandchildren, Ashley, Britney, Joshua, Christopher, and Brandon.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 12:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Kenneth Kreller of the River of Life Fellowship, officiating.
Friends may call from 10 AM - 12 PM prior to the service on Thursday.
Interment will be in Orcutt's Grove Cemetery, Noxen.
