Janet Marie Stokes, age 78 of Lehman, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024 at Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing, Dallas.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre on November 5, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Homer and Lena Kocher Major.

Janet graduated from Lake-Lehman High School and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed day trips with her husband, crafting, crocheting, and shopping on QVC.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, David S. Stokes in 2022; and three brothers Glenn, Warren, and Darrel.

She is survived by sons, Davey Stokes and wife Kim Folk of West Wyoming; and Rick Stokes and wife Kim of Lehman; grandchildren, Jacob and Abbey Stokes; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek with her nephew, Rev. Lawrence Major, Brushton Pilgrim Holiness Church, officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Kocher Cemetery, Lake Twp.
