Esther May Alles, age 83, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.

She was born in Ross Township and was the daughter of the late Adrian and Martha Winter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Alles, Sr.. Brothers, Adrian, Charles, William and Robert. Sisters, Betty Jane, Charlotte and Beverly.

She attended the Lake Lehman school district while living on her grandparent's farm, doing chores both before and after each school day. Her horse, Nellie and her dog, Laddie were her constant companions. After marrying she spent time as a homemaker, then began driving a school bus for the Lake Lehman School district. She drove innumerable children to and from school over her 47 year career. She enjoyed driving the bus, spending time with the students and was very proud of her work.

Esther is survived by her children, Deborah Baer and husband Barry of Hunlock Creek, John Alles, Jr. and Margaret Alles, both of Meeker; grandsons, John Zielen of Portland, Oregon, Brad Zielen and wife Jessica of Shavertown, great grandchildren, Kaya Brown, Otto and Sophie Zielen. She is also survived by sisters, Clara Jean and Lorraine.

There will be a private memorial at the convenience of her family.

Esther's family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Bruce Saidman whose life saving efforts gave them several more valuable years with her. The family would also like to thank the Meadows Nursing staff for their care and compassion.
