Obituary of Rebecca Gail Dennis

Rebecca Gail Dennis, retired bus driver, cherished wife, mother, and friend, gently passed away on November 1, 2023 at her home in Shavertown surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 30th, 1960, in West Covina, CA, and was the daughter of the late Archie Heffern and Lucille Coleman. Rebecca's life was a testament to her love for family. She was the beloved wife of John R. Dennis, Sr., with who she shared countless moments of love, laughter, and mutual support. Their love story was one that inspired all who knew them. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, raising their two children, Tina Dennis and John Dennis, Jr. To her children, Rebecca was a rock of support and a wellspring of wisdom. She guided them through life with a gentile hand and a strong heart; always encouraging them to pursue their dreams and to live with kindness and compassion. Her legacy will live on in them and in the values she instilled in them. Rebecca, a beacon of strength and resilience throughout her life, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her compassion was immeasurable, and her infectious laugh brought joy to every room. Besides Becky's love for angels, when she wasn't collecting statues and figurines, she would keep her hands busy crocheting and snuggling with her favorite feline friends, Bella, Lilly, and Little Bit. In addition to her husband and children, Rebecca is survived by a large circle of friends and relatives. Her passing leaves a void in many lives, but her spirit, laughter, and loved will remain with us all. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10:00 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Cheryl Cavalari, officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
