James C. Grady, Sr., passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at the age of 64 in Allied Services Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, with his family beside him.

He was the son of the late John Grady, Sr. and Shirley Hooper Grady.

Residing in Courdale and moving to Noxen at 10 years old, he then attended Lake-Lehman Schools until 9th grade, before going to West Side Vo-Tech and graduating in 1977. He worked at Hanson's Amusement Park since the age of 13, the place where he met his wife, the former Jenniann Evans. James and Jenniann married in December of 1977, sharing forty five and half years together.

James is preceded in death by sister, Elaine Grady.

Also surviving are his son James, Jr. and his wife Rebecca; daughter, Jenniann (Robbie); grandchildren, Darren Grady (Matilda), James Grady III and his wife Katie, and Larissa Grady (James) , Desiree Suydam and her husband Tommy, Isabella Reiss, Austin, Robbie, and Lee; and greatgrandchildren, Marcella, Amelia, and Sylas Grady, Tamari and Tayden Suydam, and JP and Evyn Prebola; brothers, John Grady and Gerald Grady; sister, Shirley Crawford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 7:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek with Pastor Louis Smyth of Church on the Square, Wilkes-Barre, officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM before the service at the funeral home.

A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family asks that instead of flowers, that donations in James' name be made to St. Jude's Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, because he said no child should ever have to suffer like him.
