Obituary of Brenda Lee Petroski

Brenda Lee Petroski, age 58 of Sweet Valley passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kingston on June 29, 1964 and was the daughter of the late Joseph D. Petroski, Sr. and Thelma Reakes. Brenda graduated from West Side Vocational Technical School and then went on to attend the Luzerne County College. She worked at Encon Systems, Dallas for several years before getting into the food service industry, eventually working with the Huntsville Golf Course. Brenda enjoyed listening to music and going to concerts and festivals. She also had a great love for animals and cherished the time spent with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Susan Reakes; and brother, Michael J. Petroski. Brenda is survived by son, Kyle Kuhn; sisters, JoAnn Litwhiler of Benton and Chris Nemeth of Sweet Valley; brother, Joseph Petroski of Sweet Valley; grandson, Jace; aunt, Arlene Deslich; nieces, Taryn and Lea; great-nieces, Kinzlee, Ruby, and Livy Lee; great-nephew, Ellison; and her rescue dog, Lou. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 8, 2023 at 7:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek with Linda McDermott, officiating Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home before the service.
