Obituary of Coleen Marie Setzer

Coleen M. Setzer, age 62 of Hunlock Creek, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Allied Services Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre.. She was born in Kingston on March 16, 1961 and was the daughter of the late Paul Evarts & Dorothy Hummer and step-daughter to David Bottoms of Dallas, PA. Coleen graduated from West Side Vo-Tech in 1979 and then attended Wilkes-Barre Vo-Tech for Practical Nursing, graduating in 2003. She worked as an LPN at the Meadows Nursing Home, Dallas for many years. Coleen enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and reading. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her biological parents, she was preceded in death by son, Aaron Setzer. In addition to her step-father, she is survived by her husband of 30 years, Eugene; daughter, Doreen and wife Carlene of Tobyhanna; son, Josh and wife Kristine of Falls, PA; daughter, Sarah and fiancé Barry of West Nanticoke; 4 sisters; 1 brother; grandchildren, Emma, Levi, Elena, Theo, Abby, and Zach, as well as many of her children's friends and others that considered her their grandmother as well; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 6:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Raymond D. Purdy, Jr of Living Word Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home before the service.
