Obituary of Michael William Castellani

Michael W. Castellani, age 79 of Sweet Valley, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at his home unexpectedly. He was born in Plains on April 4, 1943 and was the son of the late Edmund and Josephine Niemczyk Castellani. Michael graduated from Lake-Lehman High School, Class of 1962 and then attended the former Williamsport Technical Institute. He worked as a bricklayer for many years and belonged to the Local 5 Harrisburg Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union for 63 years. Michael also worked at the Pocono Raceway in the Fire and Safety Department, a volunteer firefighter with the Sweet Valley Fire Department, and helped run the Country Frog Craft and Gift Shop with his wife for over 25 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. Michael was a loving husband a father. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Robert Castellani. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Pam; son, Chris Castellani of Arizona; brother, Edmund Castellani of Shavertown; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 8:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, where people will be welcome to share their memories of Michael. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O.
