Obituary of David John Jones

David J. Jones, age 75 of Lehman, passed away at home early Thursday morning, February 16, 2023. He was the son of the late David and Eleanor Harnen Jones. David had a colorful life and was best known for his adept sense of humor. He cherished his friendships and nourished relationships by the good old-fashioned way of just staying in touch. David spent his career as a teacher with the Dallas School District, and to his former students was a favorite. After his retirement, he found fulfillment in odd jobs and volunteering. David was a member of the Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church. David's love for his wife, Ruth of 53 years, his children and grandchildren was abundant. He was proud of his family and "blessed" them all with the life lessons he thought were important. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Jones Romanowski. David is survived by his wife, Ruth Adamshick Jones; daughters, Amanda Newman (Brendan) and Christina Finn (Charles); son-in-law, Jack Romanowski; grandchildren, Riley, Madeline and Brady Newman, Cora and Catlin Finn. Memorial visitation hours will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 1 PM to 3:00 PM at the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
