Obituary of Florence M Howie

Florence May Howie, age 76 of Plymouth, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Gardens at Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in North Bergen, NJ on July 5, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Roger and May Dwyer Mackey. Florence graduated from North Bergen High School, Class of 1964. She was a member at Outlet Bible Tabernacle, Lehman, where she loved to sing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Roger Mackey.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Carl; children, Pamella Vonohlen (Edward, Jr.), Pastor Carl Howie (Jill), Laura Pitcher (David); grandchildren, Larissa, Kyle, Danielle, Dustin, Danae, Dakota, and Savina; great-granddaughter, Tara; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held Friday, January 27, 2023 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with former Pastor Joseph Billingsley, Mehoopany Baptist Church, officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday January 26, 2023 at the funeral home, as well as from 10:00 AM until time of service on Friday morning.

Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park, Wyoming.
