Obituary of Joyce Ann Rhone

Joyce Ann Rhone, age 77 of Shavertown, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wilkes-Barre on May 14, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Willard and Kathleen Hinz. Joyce worked in several local dress factories for many years. Most recently, she worked as a cook at the former Betty's Diner, Shavertown. She was a loving mom, sister and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Michael and Arthur; brothers, Willard and Ronald; sister, Barbara Hoover. Joyce is survived by her son, Robert Rhone of Shavertown; siblings, Betty Rinehimer and Janice Hinz, both of Wilkes-Barre, David Hinz of Swoyersville and Bonnie Mahoney of Nanticoke. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
