Obituary of Lyle Kenneth King

Lyle Kenneth King, Sr., age 80 of Lake Township, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Keystone Garden Estates, Larksville.
Mr. King was born in Meeker on October 9, 1932 and was the son of the late G. Wayne and E. Mae Ruggles King.
He graduated from the former Laketon High School in 1950 and graduated from Wilkes College with a degree in Business Administration in 1960.
He retired in 1990 from Proctor & Gamble Paper Products, Mehoopany, where he was head of building maintenance. He spent his retirement working on his 1930 Model A Ford Huckster truck with his sons and entering it into the local car shows. He also enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Lyle was based in Germany while serving in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He served as a courier for the General and ran sealed document maneuvers from base to base.
In addition to his parents he is pre-deceased by a son, Leonard, brothers, John, Roy, Donald , brother-in-law, Frank Wadas, and sister-in-law, Joan King.
He is survived by a son, Lyle King Jr. and companion Deb Doughton of Luzerne, daughter, Ellen Maccarone and her husband Carmen of Sweet Valley, son, Michael King of Meeker, daughters, Barbara Mikielski and her husband Gerald Sr. of Lake Twp., Rosemary Weaver of Swoyersville, Susan Lazur and her husband George of Loyalville, Elizabeth (Betsy) Phillips and her husband Ernest of Beaumont, and Beverly King of Meeker, 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister, Dorothy Wadas of Shavertown, brothers, Richard King of West Pittston, Edwin (Ted) and his wife Lorraine King of Dallas, sisters-in-law, Barbara King of Benton, Mary King of Shrewsbury, PA and Elsie King of California, his children's mother, Louise King of Meeker.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 3:00 PM from the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, Pikes Creek with Rev. Kenneth Brown officiating. This will be casual dress as he disliked formal attire.
Private interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.
Funeral arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.

The family would like to thank the staff of Keystone Garden Estates, Larksville, Moses Taylor Adult Psychiatric/ Alzheimer Unit, Scranton, PA, The Village at Greenbriar, Dallas, PA and Hospice of the SacredHeart for the compassionate treatment they gave to Lyle for the support to the family.
