We were surprised and heartbroken to read of David's passing. Though we knew Gail first as friends and patients, we got to know and appreciate David after she left the practice and found him to be a gentle, warm and witty man who we will sorely miss. I am so very sorry for your loss of such a wonderful and caring man. I was one of his patients and he was so kind and patient with me. I always looked forward to seeing him. We had great conversations about family ,animals ,conservation,sports and politics. He was so happy when he became a grandfather. Gail and family,
Tom and I were so shocked to see Dave's obituary in the paper. We had just seen him in June and had told him that he and you should stop over sometime , we always enjoyed being with both of you. We remember getting together with you when you were our neighbors, always a great time. He was such a caring person and an awesome doctor , we trusted him completely, we are so going to miss him ! To the Evans Family.
Our deepest sympathy goes out to you all. Any loss is tough and even tougher when you lose a good person like Dave. Please allow me to share. I too graduated from Northwest Area (NWA) Class of ’75. How I came to NWA was due to the loss of our family’s home to Hurricane Agnes in ’72. During my Junior and Senior years, Dave and I “hit-it-off” and our exploits became legendary! Well, at least to us and few others like Wayne, Randy, Brian, Jim and countless others. Oh yes, many a days, nights and whenever we could get away with our shenanigans, the back mountain area and Schickshinny Lake served as our sources for many “legendary” tales! So, his tribute wall mentioning his hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, ice skating, ice cream socials, sports, Pine Cone, racing Randy’s "Pumpkin" car across the Nanticoke River bridge, our garage band, Dutch Mountain, etc. is absolutely true! Well, you all have been gracious letting me recount fond memories. In closing… certainly, I’m only one of many who can honestly say, “I’m thankful for knowing him and he will be greatly missed". May he rest in peace and know he did make a positive impact in all of our lives. Warmest regards.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Dave was not only my optometrist buti graduated from Northwest with him. Every time I came in for my exam, we always discussed who we saw or talked to from our class since the last time. I'm going to miss coming in to see him and catch up.
