Beverly J. (Bergstrasser) Burnaford, 81, formerly of Dallas, PA, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on August 14, 2022 at Calvary Homes in Lancaster, PA where she had resided for the last 7 years. Daughter of the late Henry Bergstrasser and Dorothy (Stacey) Bergstrasser, Bev was born in Wilkes Barre, PA on June 9, 1941.

Bev is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, William H. Burnaford, her son Bradley Burnaford (Leah) of Manheim, PA and her two step-sons, Bill Burnaford (Tammie) of Howard, PA and David Burnaford (Laura) of Suffield, CT; six grandchildren – Addie, Maisie, and Sam Burnaford, Mike Burnaford (Kim), Rachel Simonetti (Dave), and Derek Burnaford, and great granddaughter Jordyn Burnaford. She is also survived by her sister Judy Johnsen (Roy) as well as many extended family members and friends.

Bev graduated from Westmoreland High School in 1959 and attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. She worked at Commonwealth Telephone Company spanning 42 years in various administrative roles, retiring in 2002. She was an accomplished painter sharing her talents with those around her. She also enjoyed cooking, quilting, gardening and doing crafts with her grandchildren. She loved to be surrounded by family and friends; always volunteering to host gatherings and celebrations at her home in Dallas and, more recently, Lancaster.

Bev's faith was all important to her. She was an original member of Dallas Community Church, now called Grace Community Church in Dallas, PA. She was actively involved in Awana, the Ladies Group, and Sunday School programs. She continued to live her faith when she moved to Calvary Homes where she was most recently involved in the Women's Connecting Group, the Quilting Club, and numerous other volunteering roles.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM from Grace Community Church, 4122 Memorial Hwy, Dallas, PA 18612.

We want to take this time to thank the staffs at Lancaster General Hospital and Calvary Homes for the care that they provided to Bev during her illness.
