Obituary of Betty Sorber

Betty Jane Sorber, age 85 of Sweet Valley, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Kindred Hospital Of Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre. Mrs. Sorber was born January 14, 1928 in Wilkes-Barre , and was the daughter of the late Dana and Thelma Keller Lord. Betty graduated from Lehman High School in 1945. For several years she was employed by the former Native Textiles, Dallas. She was preceded in death by brothers: Freas (buck), Clyde and Steve Lord and a sister, Ruth Rittenhouse. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ronald Sorber and a son, Ricky Sorber of Sweet Valley. Funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 & 118, Pikes Creek with Pastor Kenneth Kreller of the River of Life fellowship, Lehman and Rev. Raymond D. Purdy, Jr. of the Living Word Baptist Church, Fairmount Township, officiating. Private Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.
