She was a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard's 228th Brigade Support Battalion, which has its Golf Company stationed at the 109th Field Artillery armory in Wilkes-Barre. When not active with the military, she was employed by Interstate Blood and Plasma in Wilkes-Barre. JoAnne's duty and obligation led her to a year in Kuwait in 2012 where she received many ribbons and medals which included the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. Besides the military JoAnne had a love for traveling, playing games on her phone, and cuddling with her cat, Ruby. She had a bright and energetic personality with the ability to sense when someone needed help. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. JoAnne is preceded in death by her brother, Jamie Saunders, grandparents, Helen Saunders and Albina and Jason Lord.
