Donald Engle, age 69 of Harveys Lake, passed away, Friday, November 26, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wilkes-Barre on October 21, 1952 and was the son of the late Harold and Rosemary Hennebaul Engle. Donald graduated from Lake-Lehman High School in 1970 and was employed by Inter Metro Industries in Wilkes-Barre for many years until his retirement 3 years ago. His passion was cutting and splitting firewood, working on his farm and was an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Leonard and William Engle and nephew, Jeff Engle. Donald is survived by brother, Robert Engle, of Harveys Lake; sister, June Steele and her husband Robert of Sweet Valley; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 6:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Deacon Eugene Blockus of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
