Obituary of Amanda Lynn Yurksha

Amanda Yurksha, 32, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Allied Hospice, Wilkes-Barre. She was born on May 7, 1989, grew up in Hunlock Creek and attended Lake-Lehman School District where she played flute in concert band and was a member of the National Honor Society. Upon leaving school, Amanda earned a certificate in Medical Billing from Penn Foster. She was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Barbara Stockage and paternal uncles, Rick Hontz and Scott Moyer. Amanda is survived by her sons, Joey, Dylan and Lucas; mother and stepfather, Debbie (Stockage) and PJ Carey; sister, Emily; father and stepmother, Lynn and Mary Yurksha; brother, Jesse; maternal grandfather, Charles J. Stockage; many aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 12:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Chaplain Gerlin Valencia, Allied Services Hospice and Palliative Care, officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In addition to the memorial service, there will be a celebration of Amanda’s life at a later date.
