Obituary of Bettie Mae Strawser

Bettie Mae Strawser, age 83 of Dallas, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Mrs. Strawser was born in Forty Fort on February 26, 1929 and was the daughter of the late William and Anna Mack Kelly. Bettie was a graduate of Dallas High School and College Misericordia. She was formerly employed as an elementary teacher in Lake-Lehman School District and had previously taught in both Delaware and Maryland. Mrs. Strawser was preceded in death by her husband, Carl (C.J.) Strawser who passed away on December 20, 2012. Surviving are her sisters: Sheila McCarthy of West Ocean City, MD, and Mavreen Veihmeyer of Laurel, MD; daughter: Carle J. Welter and her husband Milton of Dallas; grand-daughters: Christy Jo Welter and Blair Linda Welter, both of Dallas. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. In lieu of flowers, since Bettie was an avid animal lover, the family has requested that any donations be made to your local SPCA.
