Merle F. Swan, age 67 formerly of Sweet Valley, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Mountain Top Senior Care and Rehab Center.
Mr. Swan was born in Wilkes-Barre on August 3, 1948 and was the son of the late George and Vera Jean Shaver Swan.
Merle resided in Sweet Valley for most of his life. He worked for Laborers Local #215 in Wilkes-Barre, retiring in 1990. He then was employed by the Citizens Voice delivering newspapers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Nicole Gordon.
Merle is survived by brothers, George Swan of Dallas and Dale Swan of Arrowhead Lake; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 25, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Raymond D. Purdy, Jr. of the Living Word Baptist Church, Fairmount Twp., officiating.
Friends may call from 2 PM to 4 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Kocher Cemetery, Lake Twp.
