Obituary of Marvin Raymond Gitschlag

Ray Gitschlag, age 74 of Noxen, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Hospice Of The Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Mr. Gitschlag was born in Detroit, MI on July 8, 1941 and was the son of the late Marvin and Annabelle McCoy Gitschlag. Ray retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 25 years of service. He was later employed as a custodian at the Lake-Lehman School District for many years. Ray was kept very busy by his friends and relatives as a handy "fix-it" man. He was a loving husband, father, and beloved grandfather. He is survived by his wife, the former Cindy Montross; sons, Rev. Robert Gitschlag and his wife Twila, Patrick Gitschlag, and Richard Krum and his wife Amy; daughters, Patricia Gitschlag, Jennifer Krum, and Pamela Jesso and her husband Thomas; loving grandfather of Robert II, Charles, Carlee, Chayton, Caleb, and Ava. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 7:00 pm from the Tunkhannock Assembly Of God Church, 181 Bridge St, Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Rev. Rick Womer, officiating. Friends may call 6:00 - 7:00 PM prior to the service on Tuesday. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
