Elizabeth Marie MacDougall Obituary

Elizabeth M. "Betty" MacDougall, age 82 , formerly of Idetown, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Lakeside Nursing Center, Harveys Lake.



Mrs. MacDougall was born in Ashley on March 16, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Vanta Wayda.



Betty was a 1950 graduate of Ashley High School. She was employed at several different nursing homes as a Certified Nurses Aid, including Lakeside where she spent her last years. Betty was raised in Carey's Patch in Ashley and attended St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilkes-Barre.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, brothers, Joseph, John, Andrew, Stephen, Leonard, Robert, Albert, and Richard Wayda, and sister, Mildred Branam.



Betty is survived by sons, Mark and his wife Wendy of Huntsville, and Scott of Forty-Fort; grandchildren, Ainsley Maier and her husband Shawn of Huntsville, Chelsea MacDougall of Los Angeles, CA and Sean MacDougall of Costa Mesa, CA; several nieces and nephews across the country.



Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.



Private Christian internment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.



Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.




The family is grateful for the support and care she received form Lakeside Nursing Center for these past 10 years.
