Mary A.Tobin, age 61 of Hunlock Creek, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp. Mrs. Tobin was born in Wilkes-Barre and was the daughter of the late David and Ethel Singer Sims. Mary attended Wyoming Valley West School District and was employed by Wilkes College and Leslie Fay in Plains. She was preceded in death by brother, David Sims, Jr. Mary is survived by her husband of 30 years, Kurt Tobin, Sr; sons, Shawn Fenner and his wife Christiana of Larksville and Kurt Tobin, Jr. and his wife Jonelle of Hunlock Creek; grandchildren, Shawn, Jr., Alissa, Haley, Isabella, Abigail, Harper, Kurt III (Bubba); sisters, Charlotte Shinko of Plymouth, Deborah Davison of Larksville, Dolly Coleman of Berwick and Angela Sims of Larksville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 12:00 pm from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rocky Bonomo of the Sweet Valley Church of Christ, officiating. Friends may call 9:00 - 12:00 PM on Saturday prior to the service. Interment will be in the Albert Cemetery, Nuangola.
