Austin R. Gray, age 15 of Mooretown, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Austin was born in Horseshoe Bend , ID on May 27, 2001 and was the son of the late Nicole Gensel. Austin was a current member of the Lake-Lehman sophomore class and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, competition shooting and trapping. Austin brought great joy to his family. He had many friends and loved them all. Austin was a member of the Wilkes-Barre Rifle and Pistol Club. He is survived by his father, Shane Gray of Idaho; maternal grandparents, Torrence and Frances Gensel, with whom he resided; paternal grandparents, Carol and Jack Williams; great-grandmother, Jenny Kulman; aunt, Cindy Gensel Eckrote of Mooretown; uncle, Terry E. Gensel and his children Clay, Violet and Toby Gensel and his wife Barbie of Benton; cousin, Brandi Chopka and her husband Benjamin and their daughter, Launa. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Raymond Purdy of the Living Word Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call 2-4 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Lateer Cemetery, Sweet Valley.
