Obituary of Jeanne Eva Reed

Jeanne Eva Reed, age 83 of Harveys Lake, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 19, 2016 at home. Mrs. Reed was born in Bloomsburg on February 1, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Miles Rudolph and Edith Manning Ikeler. Jeanne was employed as a home nursing aid by various nursing agencies. She was a member of the Dallas United Methodist Church. Jeanne enjoyed making jewelry, needle point crocheting and various other crafts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Theodore Reed and brother, Donald Ikeler. Jeanne is survived by daughter, Linda Gaylord and her husband Ron of Harveys Lake; sister, Doris Walters of Dallas; grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Kopec and her husband Kevin of Stroudsburg and Kevin Gaylord and his wife Kate of Trucksville; great-grandchildren, Adelle, Bella and Crista Kopec and Gavin Gaylord. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Bill Lewis, officiating. Friends may call 5:00 PM -7:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Mrs. Reed's family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Kovalick and his staff and the Kunkle EMTs for their excellent, professional and compassionate care that was given to Jeanne. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Back Mountain Food Bank of Trucksville, 40 Knob Hill Rd., Shavertown, PA 18708.
