Obituary of Isabelle Ida Hoyt

Please share a memory of Isabelle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Isabelle Hoyt, 86, of Dallas, passed away on February 6, 2024 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.

She was born on June 14, 1937 (on Flag Day, as we were always reminded) and was the daughter of the late Charles and Emma Snyder Coolbaugh.

Isabelle, known as "Gram" these days, attended Lake Lehman schools, after which she married Cletas "Kate" Hoyt, and spent the rest of her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved being with family, who were her greatest joy. Isabelle was a natural born caregiver to all her kids, her husband, until his death in 2006, and anyone else who needed her. She enjoyed day trips with her family, her crossword puzzle books which were never far from reach, and was always with the phone in her hand for some good conversation with family and friends. Isabelle also loved her church and church family. She will be sorely missed.

She resided in Dallas with her eldest daughter for the past 8 years, but home was Beaumont where she lived and raised her family for over 50 years.

In addition to her parents and husband, Isabelle was preceded in death by sisters, Florence Miller, Marion Rishell, and Lois and Jenny Coolbaugh; brothers, George, Ralph, and Donald Coolbaugh; and great-granddaughter, Emma Jane Pensak.

Surviving are her daughters, Cindy Hoyt, Brenda Hoover, Tammy (Andy) Simko; sons, Cletas, Jr. (Kathleen) Hoyt, William (Lillian) Hoyt, Wayne (Deborah) Hoyt; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, William Coolbaugh; sister, Minnie Miller; sisters-in-law, who she loved as her own family, Iva Coolbaugh, Lois "Cappy" Ransom, and Joyce Chapin; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and let us not forget her little faithful companion, Dotty.
