Obituary of Jacoba "Jackie" Bylsma

Jackie Bylsma, 102, of Sweet Valley, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 23, 2023. Jackie was born on September 18, 1921 in Prospect Park, NJ to the late Peter and Jennie Van Hoogealem Keyser. She graduated from Hawthorne High School and later married David Bylsma on October 29, 1943. Jackie and Dave served full time in the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship for 25 years both in Florida and North Carolina. She loved God's Word and was passionate about teaching it to children as well as training others to do the same. Jackie was a loving and selfless mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend….always making new friends wherever she lived. She was an avid letter writer and reader as well. She will be remembered as a powerful prayer warrior, faithfully praying for family, friends and countless Christian ministries. She was a member of Cross Creek Community Church, Trucksville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, David. Her son, Kenneth and 2 sisters. Left to carry on her legacy are two daughters; Shirley( Walter) Risko of Mount Vernon, Ohio and Brenda (Dale) Edwards of Sweet Valley. Daughter in law, Dorothy Bylsma, 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by many close and caring friends! A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800.
