June Foster Van Etten, age 100 of Dallas, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023 at The Village At Greenbriar, Dallas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Newark, NJ on March 25, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Willett and Lucile Foster. June attended Duke University where she met her future husband, Richard. She worked at First Eastern Bank in the Loan Department for many years before retiring. June was involved as a Cub and Girl Scout Leader, volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels, participated in a Bridge Club with her friends, was active with her children's PTA while they were in school, and attended Shavertown United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed horseback riding, an activity which earned her several medals, skiing, reading, doing crosswords, traveling, and spending time outside. June was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who showed love and compassion for all she met. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Richard. June is survived by children, Rick (Pam) Van Etten of Florida, Mark (Barb) of Dallas, Brad (Philly) of Arizona, Patty (Jim) O'Connell of Camp Hill, and Debbie (Phillip) Kurello of Lehman; brother, Willett Foster of Vermont; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
