Obituary of Marion Robin Powell

Robin Marion Powell, age 60 of Glen Lyon, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was born in Wilkes-Barre on November 28, 1961 and was the daughter of the late Marion Kimball. Robin graduated from Hanover High School and attended Empire Beauty School, Wilkes-Barre, earning her license for cosmetology and her teaching certificate. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping, and going to flea markets. Robin was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary A. Powell. Robin is survived by her daughters, Kimberly O'Brien (Stanley), Valerie Powell-Shoemaker (Miles), Gariann Powell (companion, George); sisters, Darlene Schaffer and Jackie Powell; grandchildren, David, Victoria, Lilly, and Allen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 1:00 PM from the Nebo Baptist Church, 75 S Prospect Street, Nanticoke, PA 18634, with Rev. Timothy G. Hall, officiating. Immediately following the service at the church, there will be a funeral luncheon from 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM.
