Obituary of Robert Edward Rood

Robert Edward Rood, age 64 of Hunlock Creek, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012 at Hospice Community Care inpatient unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. Mr. Rood was born December 13, 1947 in Wilkes-Barre, and was the son of the late Veryl and Helen Trax Rood. Robert graduated from Lake-Lehman High Shool in 1965 and served in the Army National Guard from 1967 to 1995. He was employed as a Corrections Officer at the State correcctional Institution at Dallas. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and Golfing. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, the former Sharon Lamoreaux; Children: Tracy Snyder of Hunlock Creek; Robert Rood II and his wife, Janelle of Sweet Valley; Kerri Ann Edwards and her husband, Allen of Wilkes-Barre; David Wildoner of Hunlock creek; Brother: Harry of Pahrump, NV; 8 grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 & 118, Pikes Creek . There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the Bloomingdale Cemetery, Ross Twp.. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Hospice Community Care, 601 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, PA 18704.
