Mollieann Carey Calkins, age 78 of Sweet Valley, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at home. She was born in Kingston on June 18, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Melbourne and Doris Lauderbach Carey. Mollieann was a graduate of Dallas Franklin Monroe High School and was a member of the Living Word Baptist Church, Fairmount Twp. She was employed as a secretary for the Pennsylvania State University, Lehman Campus and Misericordia University. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth M. Calkins, sisters, Nancy Deforest, Doris Carey and Polly Bobersky and brother, David Carey. Mollieann is survived by sisters, Jessie Fowler, Loise Jane Kaminski, Susan Yudiski, Patricia Lawley, Betsy Carey and Robin Famulare; brothers, John Carey, James Carey, Robert Carey, and Michael Carey. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Raymond D. Purdy, Jr. of the Living Word Baptist Church, officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Living Word Baptist Church, 1170 Hunlock-Harveyville Rd., Shickshinny, PA 18655
