Lorraine M. Dennis, age 89 of Hunlock Creek, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the Birchwood Nursing And Rehabilitation Center, Nanticoke.

She was born in Lehman Township on May 30, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Sue and Bruce Varner, Sr.

Lorraine graduated from Lake-Lehman High School and then went on to receive a Bachelor in Business from McCann School of Business. She worked for Dust Bunnies cleaning cabins at Ricketts Glenn State Park and was the lead baker at Weis Markets, the former Mr. Z's Food Market, Duryea. Lorraine was a member of the Brick United Methodist Church, Duryea, where she was involved with the Women's Club and acted as choir director. She enjoyed spending time with her friends in the community where she lived, often eating ice cream and relaxing while sitting at the pond. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, John Dennis; previous husband, Robert Grey, Sr.; son, Robert Grey, Jr.; and sister, Beverly Sayre.

Lorraine is survived by daughter, Linda Grey of Harveys Lake; daughter-in-law, Sheree Grey of Sweet Valley; siblings, Bruce Varner, Jr. and Doris Ward; grandchildren, Michael Grey (Lydia), Andrea Grey (Jason Groboski), and Amanda Reeder (Gail Rauth); and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Dr. Philip Wanck, officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Lake Township.
