Mary "Louise" Stefanowicz, age 89 of Monroe Twp., passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025 at home.

She was born in Noxen on August 25, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Lyman and Eva Shupp Root.

Louise enjoyed spending time at the casino and caring for her cats. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Benjamin Stefanowicz; and son-in-law, Chester Visneski.

Louise is survived by her 3 daughters, Marcia, Brenda, and Teresa; granddaughters, Becky Whitmire and Sarah Gerrity (Edward); great-grandchildren, Joshua, Lanie, Olivia, and Benjamin; sister-in-law, Maxine Stefanowicz; good friends, Agnes, Billie, and Jeni; many nieces and nephews; and lastly her loyal cats, Tim, Tom, and Peewee.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.

There will be no calling hours.
