Daniel W. Kocher, Sr. age 81 of Shavertown, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

He was born in Lake Twp. on May 14, 1944 and was the son of the late Derwood and Harriet Pimm Kocher.

Daniel attended Lake Twp. Schools and graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy, Class of 1968. He worked as a state trooper for 18 years before retiring in 1986. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia; sons, Daniel Wayne, Jr. and Michael; daughter, Melissa; grandchildren, Zachariah, Olivia, Joshua, Nathaniel and Kassidy.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. L.D. Reed of the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, Harveys Lake, officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
