Michael Joseph Machutas Obituary

Michael Machutas, age 65 of Sweet Valley, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.




He was born in Kingston on August 5, 1959 and was the son of the late Michael and Helen Machutas.




Michael retired from the local Boilermaker's Union #13, after 40 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing. Michael was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He loved nothing more than spending time with his wife and grandchildren.




He is survived by his wife of 14 years, the former Diane Fine; daughter, Kristie Smith (Mike) of Dallas; sons, Ricky Steininger (Gina) of North Carolina and Mark Steininger (Elisa) of New York; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Anne Marie Clark and Helene Simko; nephews and niece.




At the families request, there will be no funeral services or calling hours.




Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
