Obituary of Laura May Sutton

Laura Sutton, age 80 of Dallas, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Meadows Manor, Dallas. She was born in Philadelphia on May 12, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Lester and Frances Sperl. Laura worked many years at the Finos and Cooks Pharmacies. Later she went on to work at the Cardiac Rehab Center at the Saxton Pavilion and as a medical secretary at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. Laura enjoyed bowling and playing golf with her local woman's leagues. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Sutton, Jr.; and son, Richard Thomas, Jr. Laura is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Thomas (David) and Cheryl Roberts (Keith, Sr.); daughter-in-law, Diana Thomas; brother, J.R. Sperl; sister, Frances Taylor; grandchildren, Richelle, Amber, Keith, Jr., Brandon, Brittany, and Dylan; 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; dear friend, John; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 7:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Dennis Gray, a chaplain of Compassionate Care Hospice, officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 223 W.
