Obituary of Martha Jean Steidinger

Martha J. Steidinger, age 72 of Monroe Township, passed Saturday, April 19, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre on June 6, 1952 and was the daughter of the late Guy and Marian Siglin.

Martha graduated from West Side Technology Center and the Empire Beauty School. She was the owner of the Pitstop Dinner in Beaumont, acted as notary for many years for the surrounding area, was a manager for the Times Leader Newspaper, and acted as a newspaper delivery person for both the Times Leader and Citizens Voice Newspapers. Martha loved bingo, her trips to Turning Stone Casino, and spending time with her loving family. She was affectionately known as "Gigi" by her great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Steidinger, Sr.

Martha is survived by children, Norma (Jack) Montross of Monroe Township, Norman (Catherine) Steidinger, Jr. of Kunkle, and Salina Ondish (Jay) of Florida; grandchildren, Michael (Amanda), Lauren (Shane), Brandon, and Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Athea Rose and Hella Ash; and numerous siblings, nieces, and nephews.

A Funeral Service be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. L.D. Reed of the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home before the service on Wednesday.

Interment will be in the Dymond Section of Orcutts Grove Cemetery, Noxen.
