Alexander Coveleski Obituary

Alexander Joseph Coveleski, Jr., age 73, of Harvey's Lake, PA, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025. He was born in Union City, PA, on July 15, 1951, and was the son of the late Alexander S. Coveleski and Ruth E. Kazakiewicz.

He was a teacher at Lake-Lehman High School, where he was recognized as teacher of the year on many occasions, in addition to being one of the founding owners and beloved bartender of the Villa Roma Restaurant in Harvey's Lake along with his now-deceased aunts, Lillian Sacco and Jeanne DeWees.

He attended Union City High School, then continued on to Edinboro University, majoring in History, and was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. He later went on to earn his Masters Degree in Education at Wilkes University.

He was a lover of the Pittsburgh Steelers, comedy, reading, history, and old TV westerns. He loved going on road trips, eating good food, bowling, celebrating with a good beer, and living life to the fullest. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going out each season with his father, family, and friends until he lost his sight. His sense of humor, intelligence, and quick wit allowed him to touch the lives of many people throughout his life, thanks to his colorful stories and charming personality that will be remembered for years to come.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia K. Amado, Ph.D., and nephew, Mark J. Robuck Jr.

Alex is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bonnie (Yascur), and their daughter, Aniela K. Coveleski and her fiancé David N. Wilson of Los Angeles, CA, who are to be married this September. He is also survived by his siblings Darryl G. Coveleski of Union City, PA and Lynelle R. Robuck of Chadds Ford, PA, and all of his nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much.

As per Alex's expressed wishes, there will not be a traditional funeral or memorial service at this time. However, there will be a celebration of life taking place at a later date, with details to follow. He wanted everyone to celebrate his life and not to mourn. In fact, he would probably want everyone to put on a polka and take a shot of vodka in his honor when you read this. Na zdrowie!

Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. Memorial donations can be made in Alex's honor at https://rb.gy/fcq2xb for the American Kidney Fund.
