William A. King, Sr. age 73 of Lake Silkworth, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Birchwood Nursing Home, Nanticoke, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Wilkes-Barre on January 6, 1952 and was the son of the late Irving King and Betty Bennett King. Bill attended Lake-Lehman High School. He worked at Offset Paperback as a press operator for over 29 years. Bill enjoyed all types of motor racing, watching the birds and local wildlife, caring for homeless animals, riding 4 wheelers, meticulously caring for his machines and cars, and spending time around the campfire at home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna. Bill is survived by sons, William A. King, Jr (April) of Lake Silkworth and Aaron King (Jessica) of Shavertown; grandchildren, Colby and Pacelyn; siblings, Irving "Lee" King and JoAnne Kapral; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A conjoined memorial service for both William and his wife Donna will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 7:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Deborah Rose of Maple Grove United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM before the service. A private interment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery at the family's convenience.
