Carol L Hassaj, 79, of Hunlock Creek, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Allied Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Born September 5, 1943 in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Zigmund and Elizabeth Massaker Augustinski.

Prior to her retirement, Carol had been employed by West Side Tech, Pringle in Food Services and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth.

Family was the most important aspect of Carol's life, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family during the summer trips bayside.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Blanche Baggett.

Carol is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jacob F Hassaj, children, Cheryl Montigney (Bernard) of Hunlock Creek, Jacob III (Ruth) of Hunlock Creek, Robert (Amy) of Archbald and Carl (Carie) of Hunlock Creek. Grandchildren, Chad, Janelle, Bernard, Matthew, Megan, Hailey & Caleb; Great-Grandchildren: Hudson, Sparrow, Kalia & Sebastian. Sisters, Leona Marchakitus, Elizabeth Sincavage, Kathy Blaum (Michael), brothers, Zigmund (Betty) Augustinski, George (Michelle) Augustinski. Carol will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

A prayer service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00am the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of Routes 29 & 118, Pikes Creek with Deacon Eugene Blockus of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church officiating.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
