Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Carter, age 91 of Dallas, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Mercy Center, Dallas, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Carter was born in Dallas on June 13, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Anna Cragle Warner. Betty graduated from Dallas High School and was employed at the former General Cigar Co., Pringle, the former Coscia's Restaurant, Dallas, and retired from Mercy Center, Dallas, and did volunteer work at the center after her retirement. She was a member of the Loyalville United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales with her friend Nancy, and going on Back Mountain Senior Trips. She was well known for making delicious pies, was an avid green thumb gardener and enjoyed playing basketball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Frederick, and sister, Dorothy Sowerby. Betty is survived by son, James Carter and his wife Diane of Loyalville; daughter, Judy Deleo and her husband Joe of Loyalville; sister, Laverna Segar and her husband Mel of Lehman and Hilda Silver and her husband Frank of Catawissa; grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica, Nicole and Jonelle; great-grandchildren, Denali, Dalton and Joey; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Carol Folk of the Loyalville United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
